Exciting Updates to MOSARSY: Enhanced Features, Security Boosts, and Upcoming Launch!

Hello MOSARSY community!

Today's development session was incredibly productive, and we're thrilled to share a summary of the key updates, improvements, and new features we've implemented in the MOSARSY app. As a trust-based fintech platform digitizing Rotating Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCAs), MOSARSY is designed to empower underbanked individuals with transparent, collaborative financial tools. These changes focus on enhancing user experience, fixing bugs, and strengthening security—paving the way for a more reliable and user-friendly app.

Best of all, with these refinements, MOSARSY will soon be available to everyone who needs a secure platform to manage their finances, pool contributions, rotate payouts, and build wealth collectively. Stay tuned for the official launch announcement!

1. Improved User Experience: Position-Specific Financial Calculations

One of the standout features from today's session is the enhancement to the "My Positions" section in the dashboard. Now, when users click the "Details" button for a specific position in a Ring of Trust (ROT), they'll see a tailored financial breakdown specific to their chosen position (e.g., Position X). This includes a detailed table displaying BOX1 through BOX23 from our MOSARSY calculation algorithm, covering everything from investment amounts and fees to profits and risk funds.

This update makes it easier for members to understand their personalized financial projections without generic overviews. We also integrated a visual chart for quick insights into key metrics like investments, fees, and profits.

This feature ensures transparency and empowers users to make informed decisions about their ROT participation.

2. Bug Fixes and Reliability Improvements

We tackled several technical issues reported during testing to make the app more stable:

• Firebase Path Construction Errors: Resolved a recurring TypeError related to undefined path segments in Firestore references (e.g., when fetching ROT members). We standardized object keys (using id consistently instead of mixing id and ringId) and added checks for defined values before querying.

• ReferenceError for 'doc' Function: Fixed by consistently using the aliased createDocRef (from our import). Updated all instances, ensuring proper document references.

These fixes eliminate console errors, improve data loading reliability, and prevent crashes when viewing ROT details or joining rings. We also addressed transient network issues (e.g., HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR) by recommending retries in production code.

3. New Security Features: Firebase Authentication Best Practices

Security is at the heart of MOSARSY, especially for a financial app. Today, we integrated comprehensive best practices for Firebase Authentication to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access. Key additions include:

• Federated Providers and MFA: Prioritized secure sign-in methods like Google and Apple, with multi-factor authentication (MFA) for high-risk actions.

• Anonymous Auth with Limits: Enabled for onboarding but restricted sensitive actions via Security Rules.

• State Persistence and Token Management: Set to LOCAL for seamless sessions, with secure token handling.

These enhancements reduce risks like phishing and brute-force attacks, ensuring MOSARSY meets high standards for financial data protection.
